FACELIFT WITHOUT SURGERY
Frown lines are one of the most common wrinkles developing on our face due to repeat movement of the facial skinby the forehead muscles.These lines appearing between the eyebrows are dynamically created on everyone regardless of the age, by facial movements, such as frowningwhile trying to concentrate in something or squinting. These regular activities of contracting and relaxing thereafter the facial muscles can cause the most common wrinkles in our face. These wrinkles can be treated with local muscular relaxants such as Botox or the new addition botulinum toxins Dysport. However, the groving effects of the wrinkles may need additional smoothening effects obtained by using one of the fillers.
The aging process, life exposure to stressors (climate, physical or emotional stress) can produce change in our face’s skin manifested by loss of tissue, deflation and descent. Cosmetic fillers are gel like substances that when injected at different depths under the surface of the skin will elevate the skin, replace the loss of volume that occurred and restore the youthful contours of the face through a nonsurgical facelift. It is not only the amelioration of wrinkles but really artistically reshaping the face to what it was when there was enough volume of tissue underneath the skin, with the right amount of tonicity to hold everything in a symmetrical shape, typical to the young look of the face. To achieve this task we may use different kind of materials mostly derived from similar naturally produced ingredients of the human body. The soft tissue fillers we use most are:
- Restyline
- Juvederm
- Radiesse
- Perlane
Restylane, Juvederm and Perlane are injectable derivatives of Hyaluronic acid a normal constituent of the skin, restoring volume, plumping lips, removing wrinkles thus erasing the signs of aging, anger ,anxious looks, etc. These plumping effects lasts 6 to 8 months and will require repeat injections to maintain the desired aesthetic results. Juvederm and Restyline are particularly useful for plumbing lips. Radiesse his a longer lasting effect used for soft tissue augmentation deeper. It is used to enhance cheeckbones, chins and other hollow areas in the face with a lasting effect of one year and over through collagen stimulation.
Cosmetics fillers work well with Botox cosmetics or Dysport. These injections softens the wrinkles on the forehead, the “crow’s feet” around the eyes the smile lines and laugh lines around the mouth and the furrows between the nose and the mouth. Their mechanism of action through neutralizing the nerve transmission to the muscles that produce the face contractions, the basic mechanism of wrinkle creation.
However Botox Cosmetic and Dysport do not fill the tissue under the retracted skin of the wrinkle like the cosmetic filler therefore many time both may be required to achieve the youthful contours of the face.
Potential Benefits Of Injectable Facelift / Cosmetics Fillers
Soft tissue injectables decrease the appearance of deep wrinkles, furrows, grooves and defects, augmenting the areas of tissue loss, while Botox and Dysport lower the activity of a facial muscle. The final effect is to restore a face to young, symmetrical proportion and curvatures without need for surgery.
Potential Risks Of Facial Injectable Procedure
Bruising and swelling can occur in the injected area, especially in people taking aspirin like medication, vitamin E, Ginko Biloba. These bruises are temporally and a preliminary discussion with our Physician may avoid increasing the changes of bruising.
- Infection – any injection carries a small risk of infection. A short course of antibiotics may be prescribed in these rare instances.
- Pain/Discomfort- Some of the procedures are done with a local anesthetic applied to the skin. In addition, we mix Restyline with additional anesthetic in order to obtain a stronger and lasting effect.
